Opportunity for fully funded training to provide SEN support

Nurtureuk is a national charity working to provide sustained mental health support for children and young people in education. We have been lucky enough to receive funding that would allow education professionals working in Birmingham-based schools to attend our Summer School event on a fully funded place. Summer School is our annual immersive four-day residential course providing training for those new to, or looking to upskill themselves on best practices for working with and for the mental health and wellbeing of children in education. It will take place at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham on the 29th July – 1st August, with your choice of attending either three days or the full four days.

It’s a great opportunity for your CPD. Over the four days there is a selection of 30 specialist workshops, four big picture sessions, eight masterclasses and lots of networking opportunities. All of our workshops are based around four key themes: new to nurturing interventions, nurturing approaches for wellbeing, inclusive strategies for special needs and trauma informed schools. As well as this, you will have access to the health spa (including indoor pool, steam room, sauna and whirlpool) as well as a large shopping centre only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. There will be plenty of evening activities to get involved in, including the 50th Anniversary Gold Gala Dinner with karaoke. All meals and refreshments are included and accommodation is provided in comfortable, single occupancy en-suite rooms in the hotel. We don’t cover travel to the event, any additional nights that a delegate may wish to spend at the hotel after the event is over or alcohol but this is available at a nurtureuk exclusive discounted rate.

The one thing that we ask for in return is your support in helping us report back to our funders about the impact that their funding has had on supporting vulnerable children and young people through nurturing approaches, through short impact reports.

If you work in a school in Birmingham (must be in Birmingham) and this sounds like something you would be interested in or know someone else who would be interested in then please email me at beverley@nurtureuk.org
