Children with anxiety

Postby Polly0210 on Sun Apr 17, 2016 2:19 pm

Hi there,

I am a new ta whilst I complete my degree alongside.

I have a child diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and a few children who suffer daily with anxiety. I wondered whether anyone would be able to help me. I chose to do my dissertation on anxiety and have created a survey, if you have the time to complete it, I would be eternally grateful.

Also if anyone has some strategies for helping with anxiety that have worked I would love to hear them.

Thank you in advance.

This is tough as it depends on exactly what shape the Anxiety takes shape. Is it separation anxiety from their parents? is it social anxiety?
For the most part you can tailor parts of the lesson to the child for example if music calms them down play some in the background while you are working on a task. If they have a favourite colour which they like to use, change the background of your IWB Pro so they look at the screen and keep engaged for as long as possible.

I hope this helped some what.
