CRB checks for experience/observation

Postby AishaJ on Fri Aug 06, 2010 11:30 pm

Hey, I'm currently writing out letters to primary schools around my town to gain the 10 days work experience I need to apply for the primary PGCE. I haven't been accepted anywhere yet but does anyone know if you have to have the CRB check before you can do the experience? I called up today to try and organise an enhanced CRB check but they told me the only way I can get this is if a school/workplace calls to confirm a registered number? Is there any way you can do this individually as I'd like to start working as soon as possible and I know the checks can take over a month to process! Thanks!

Hi
When I applied for my PGCE the university sent out all of the papers for the CRB. I sent them back with a cheque and then my CRB came a few weeks later. Maybe you could ask at either the uni you attend or where you have applied to?
