Hi fellow teachers, my name is Sonia.

I am considering apply for the PGCE in Citizenship at London Met. Uni in London, to commence in September 2010 to teach secondary and/or post 16.

I am a practising Solicitor and a Partner at a West End law firm, wanting a career change. I have teaching experience, albeit as a RSA Fitness Instructor, but no classroom experience. However, I have managed to arrange some primary school experience at my youngest son's school and hopefully some secondary experience in the very near future :D

Hi, I'm applying to do a PGCE in French at Sheffield, Sheffield Halham, Manchester and Nottingham. My fluency is pretty good and vocab too, but my grammar is rusty as I did my degree a few years ago. In terms of subject knowledge, do you have to be 100% ready to teach tomorrow in order to get offered a place? Thx Rosie.

Hi

I'm Sarah. I've got a degree in Politics from the University of Leeds and am hoping to take a PGCE in Citizenship and History and Citizenship at the University of Birmingham in September 2011 (although I've not applied yet!). Currently taking a year out to get some more experience - got an interview for a TA job in the new year - and then in Sept 2010 I'm going to go travelling for a bit :)

Hi
Well I'm thinking of taking a course for QTS but could do with some advice.I have been a personal tutor for six years teachings GCSE maths, physics and English with great results. When I asked about a course at the local university I was told that my degree (I did music technology BSc ) has to be 50% of the subject I want to teach.I was also told I needed an A level in maths if I wanted to teach above 14 year olds.I haven't got an A level in maths but I think there are courses that I can go on to bring my maths up to that level.

I am now 59 so is there a possibility at this age to get QTS.

I have tried to get on a teaching course in the years past but have found them to be full and no places or to far to travel to.

Any advice would be greatly recieved

Afternoon all,

I think I'll bring PE to the table and say I am looking to apply for Secondary School PGCE in late 2010, in either London or Canterbury Christchurch for the academic year 2011-2012.
