Is there a shortage of particular teaching jobs?

Postby m_finn on Wed Mar 08, 2017 11:44 am

Hi,

Im considering doing a PGCE Secondary Computer Science and been told there is a teaching shortage in ICT, Physics, Chemistry and Maths in particular. However, when i look around job sites, I can't see a lot of vacancies in the area i live (North East).

Where is the best place to look for teaching vacancies, and at what time of year?
Is there a nationwide shortage, or is this more regional issue?

i dont want to start this course unless there is a good chance of jobs to apply for in my area when i graduate.

Thanks
