EYFS tracking and monitoring for research study

Dear EYFS teachers,
Firstly thank you for all the hard work you've been doing recently to keep our children safe during COVID-19.

I have three short questions for you.

Researchers at the University of Leeds are planning a study to investigate the impact of school closures on the progress of children in reception on the 7 EYFS profile areas of assessment. We would like to know more about how often teachers monitor and record children’s progress and what tools you use, to see whether we can ask teachers to say whether an individual child is working at the same level, a higher level or a lower level when they return to school compared to when they left before lockdown. If you are a reception class teacher we have some quick questions:

1. What tools do you use to monitor and record progress?
2. How often do you monitor and record progress?
3. Would you feel confident to say whether a child was working at the same, lower or higher level than before?

Thank you for your help!
