Hi everyone,

I have a PGCE interview on thursday and I am struggling a little with lesson ideas. I have to teach a lesson to a class of year 1/2, and the lesson should last 20 minutes. The idea I am currently working with is the objective to describe a setting. General lesson plan goes a little like this:

Haunted House

Learning objective: to learn how to describe a setting.
Context: A haunted house
Teaching Activities
2 minutes to talk to the person sat next to you about what you see.
Ask the class… what did you and your partner see?
Now imagine you were in the picture- again two minutes how would you feel being sat at the front of the house. What can you see? What can you smell? What are you doing?
Act it out with partner… get into a circle.
What does scared look like?

Children’s activities
Draw your own haunted house! Make it as scary as possible! What animals might you see? What colour would the house be? Cobwebs, spiders, graveyard.
Write 3 sentences about how you would move in your haunted house. I walked around the house on my tip toes. Think about how you acted…

Does anyone have any ideas how i could improve/add to this. Many thanks
