PGCE Students: Looking for Summer Work?

Postby OxfordSummerCourses on Thu Jan 26, 2017 5:22 pm

Oxford Summer Courses was established in 2010 by a network of Oxford alumni, determined to share the magic of the university and the city with the wider world. Although Oxford Summer Courses is not part of Oxford University, it is at the heart of everything we do, shaping our approach to teaching and our standards. We run a summer school which is set to welcome 1,000 motivated international students aged 10-24 to Oxford and the South East in 2017, where they will study a wide variety of academic subjects and English language courses.

In 2017, 10-12 year old students will be based at a specialised campus at Wycombe Abbey School in Buckinghamshire. Our goal is to share the exciting academic adventure of Oxford with the world, and provide high quality academic experiences for students of all ages. Our teaching is interactive and creative, and promotes a growth mindset approach. We teach in small classes, using projects to build students’ research skills and taking lessons outside the classroom environment where possible. Above all, we value tutor autonomy, and offer tutors the opportunity to design their own syllabus(es) around their strengths and interests.

The role of Subject Teacher (10-12) is to prepare and deliver lessons for international students aged 10-12 years over a 4-week summer course in one of the following cross-curricular subject areas:

Enterprise Explorers (Business & Entrepreneurship) | Science Explorers (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) | Tech Explorers (Engineering, Computer Science & Technology) | Story Explorers (Creative Writing & Journalism)|English Explorers (EFL)

Each week of teaching is discrete, allowing students to study with us for any combination of 1-4 weeks between 2nd and 29th July 2017. Class sizes are limited to 10-15 students, allowing an outstanding teaching and learning experience.

These positions would be ideally suited to dynamic teachers or teaching students who want to gain additional teaching experience with competitive pay, diverse classes, and exciting curricula. For more information and an application form, please visit our website:
