QTS Numeracy Skills Test

The Numeracy test lasts 48 minutes and is in two sections:

Mental Arithmetic
An audio test for which headphones are needed. (the use of calculators is not permitted in the mental arithmetic part of the test)

On-screen Questions
Interpreting and using statistical information and using and applying general arithmetic. (Use of the on-screen calculator only is permitted in this test)

Numeracy Test Marking


There is a total of 28 marks available in the Numeracy Test. Each question carries one mark. Each section carries the following points:

  • Mental arithmetic - 12
  • Interpreting and using statistical information - 7
  • Using and applying general arithmetic - 9

i passed my literacy first time. I took the numeracy three times and failed each time by 2 and 5 marks.

i feel sick after so much of trying.

Hi guys, ive been reading your posts it seems soooo stressful.
I have took the literacy test and passed, numeracy failed twice, got last attempt next week, confident to passs, just revise really hard....Good Luck guys!
