QTS Numeracy Skills Test

The Numeracy test lasts 48 minutes and is in two sections:

Mental Arithmetic
An audio test for which headphones are needed. (the use of calculators is not permitted in the mental arithmetic part of the test)

On-screen Questions
Interpreting and using statistical information and using and applying general arithmetic. (Use of the on-screen calculator only is permitted in this test)

There is a total of 28 marks available in the Numeracy Test. Each question carries one mark. Each section carries the following points:

  • Mental arithmetic - 12
  • Interpreting and using statistical information - 7
  • Using and applying general arithmetic - 9

I am also having trouble passing the test. Have missed out by two marks on my last try. I can do the mental arithnetic questions but the time limit adds roo much pressure. I work it out and just before I can input the answer we are on to the next q... read more »

I HAVE FINALLY PASSED ALL MY SKILLS TEST, (JUST PASSED MY NUMERACY)

I am spending my summer revising for maths inorder to pass the test. I am appaled that we only have 2 attempts and so cross that I will not have chance to revise other subject areas or read books from my reading list. Instead I am revising questions ... read more »
